What Is It?
Lip injections is the procedure of taking filler and placing it into the areas of your lips that you want more fullness or symmetry. Using a specialized needle, the filler is placed into the lips offering a more plump and enhanced look.
Restylane®, Emervel®, Revanessel®, and Juvederm® are Health Canada-approved injectable dermal fillers composed of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide present in the human body that binds water and hydrates the skin and soft tissues. No allergy testing is required. These fillers may be injected into the skin or subcutaneously, resulting in greater fullness, and volume correction.
The treatment is performed with topical anesthetic, requires approximately 30 minutes, and is very safe. The results are immediate and typically last between 6 months to 2 years. Recovery time is generally minimal.
