Browlift

Browlift

A browlift, also known as a forehead lift, is a procedure that can improve brow and forehead wrinkles and correct drooping brows and heavy upper eyelids.

Indications for a browlift include:

  • drooping brows
  • horizontal lines and furrows
  • an appearance of looking angry, sad, or tired.

Browlift procedures involve removal or alteration of the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping of the forehead, thereby raising the eyebrows and minimizing frown lines. Dr. Elmaraghy may use the “open” conventional surgical method, in which the incision is hidden just behind or within the hairline; or it may be performed endoscopically using minimal incisions. A browlift can be performed alone or with other cosmetic procedures such as a facelift and/or eyelid surgery.

The operation may be performed:

  • as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia.
  • In one and two hours depending upon the surgical plan.

The majority of the swelling and bruising is resolved by one week to ten days.
